Trust

trustPeople have stopped believing in institutions. The expenses scandal and the credit crunch have done serious harm to the reputation of Parliament and the financial services sector. The BP oil spill typifies the reputational damage that can so quickly be inflicted on corporate Britain.

Linstock designs and implements strategic, proactive and long term programmes to help organisations build good reputations among customers, politicians and third parties. We can help you communicate contentious issues and engage with your critics. When things go wrong, we understand that reputations built over years can be destroyed in hours if communications are not handled well. We plan and practice for crisis scenarios and guide you through the media and new media storm.

Client case studies

  • The Association of Independent Financial Advisers (AIFA)

Brief: In addition to a tough economic climate, IFAs face an array of regulatory and political pressures. Linstock works closely with AIFA’s Directors to champion the cause of IFAs with civil servants and Government, promoting the value of professional financial advice.

Activity: Comment, bylines and features are provided to the trade, regional and national media on a regular basis, on issues relating to investment, savings, and pensions. We also devise and implement specific campaigns round issues like the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) and the launch of the Manifesto for Advice.

Results: Extensive media coverage on a weekly basis, often setting the agenda for the industry. For example, the launch of the Manifesto for Advice resulted in 40 articles in a month with a PR value of £132,345. The launch event was addressed by the Pensions Minister and attended by key industry stakeholders.

AIFA has also been awarded Trade Body of the Year at the 2009 Public Affairs News Awards.
