Education and skills
The education and skills sectors will continue to play a key role as the UK attempts to compete in the global knowledge-based economy. Not only must people of all ages be able to enjoy a fulfilling educational experience, but that experience must help support the future economy of the UK - meeting evolving business needs. People and organisations working in education and skills development face an array of targets and policy initiatives, plus competition to attract funding and government support. Linstock can help your organisation make its case through the media, in Westminster and in Whitehall.
Society of College, National and University Libraries (SCONUL)
SCONUL is the membership body for the UK’s university libraries, providing services to 98% of these higher education bodies including the British Library and Oxford’s historic Bodleian Library. Linstock is retained to give media relations and public affairs advice, prepare a monthly email newsletter, and keep SCONUL plugged into policy development and public debate. Linstock has helped SCONUL publicise the radical reforms being made in many libraries across the country. We have focused on a ‘clicks and mortar’ approach to library services, which offers significant cost savings while appealing to both younger library users and academics. The approach has generated coverage in The Guardian, Independent and Times Higher Education. Linstock has also managed communications workshops for members at the SCONUL Annual Conference.
Durham University
Durham is one of the oldest and most prestigious Universities in the UK. Linstock is helping Durham University to adapt its communications programme to ensure it engages fully with government, related funding bodies and political influencers. Specifically, Linstock is helping to identify opportunities to feed Durham’s research into the political process.
