Financial services

Businesses in the financial sector face an increasing array of regulatory, political and competitive pressures. Linstock Communications helps clients keep abreast of major industry issues and recommends when and how they should enter media and political debate. Our consultants have worked in the retail and institutional fields, developing and implementing campaigns for fund managers, life companies and online investment firms. We also have experience of working for specialist financial trade organisations.

Interactive Investor and Moneywise

Interactive Investor is the UK's leading investment website. Moneywise is the UK's largest personal finance magazine. Linstock provides both organisations with a press office and coordinates their media relations programme.

Campaigns have included promoting the rights of retail investors during the flotation of QinetiQ, generating awareness of Interactive Investor’s fund supermarket and positioning Moneywise’s editorial team as experts on personal finance matters.

Association of Independent Financial Advisers

The Association of Independent Financial Advisers (AIFA) is the trade body for IFAs in the UK. IFAs (the main distribution channel for many financial products) have come under extensive scrutiny in the last year, with regulators, government and consumers questioning their role and the value of their service. Linstock was asked to manage AIFA's reputation using media relations and public affairs tactics.

Linstock has helped AIFA respond to an attack from consumer organisation Which? and prepared its Director General for a House of Lords Select Committee hearing. Linstock also publicised AIFA's success in securing a more balanced Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) for members, and its innovative Stakes in the Ground research which highlights how products are being sold in the current environment.
